Short Fiction
Parchhai
A 9 minute short film. Made as part of a classroom project in my 6th semester of Film & Video Communication at NID Ahmedabad.  The film was ideated, shot and edited in 4 weeks in a budget of INR 6000. The equipment was provided by the institute on 3 assigned shoot days. All aspects of pre-production and production such as location, casting, art direction and more were executed with the constraints of Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.
Synopsis
In the aftermath of a traumatic accident, a newly widowed young woman seeks a moment of solitude from the chaos of her husband's funeral. In a culture where a married woman's identity and independence is heavily tied to patriarchal values and family dynamics rooted heavily in gender roles, she grapples with her new reality.
